Director of Quality – Upper Midwest (1930)
Our client, a private equity-backed contract manufacturer of beauty, personal care and OTC products, is seeking a Director of Quality to lead the quality function at its most product-diverse manufacturing site. This hands-on technical leader will own quality systems, cGMP and OTC compliance, microbiology, audits and product release across a wide range of formats, including liquids, emulsions, suspensions, hot-pour products, scrubs and compressed tablets. The role calls for someone who digs into root causes rather than simply managing the system, and who will partner closely with operations, R&D and a newly formed scale-up team that bridges formula development and production.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of hands-on quality experience in cosmetic, personal care, OTC or healthcare manufacturing
- Strong technical depth in microbiology
- Intellectual curiosity, with a real enjoyment of asking questions, digging in and solving technical problems
- Comfort in a fast-paced, high-impact contract manufacturing environment
- Contract manufacturing (CM/CMO) experience preferred
- Knowledge of cGMP and OTC drug regulations (FDA OTC monographs, ISO 22716) preferred
- Familiarity with formats such as granulation, direct compression, hot pour, suspensions, emulsions and scrubs preferred
- Technical degree required: Microbiology, Chemistry, BioChem, etc.
Location
Upper Midwest. Occasional travel to the company’s other manufacturing sites may be required.
