Sales Director, Food – Remote  (1902)

Our client, a well-established private label and custom contract manufacturing provider, is looking for a proven sales leader to drive growth across major retail, mass and club channels in the Food industry. This person will lead a new business vertical, initially with one direct report while creating strategy and driving business into the target verticals. 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area required; MBA preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience in food, CPG, private label, or contract manufacturing. 
  • Retail food experience is required, including direct experience selling into grocery, mass, club, specialty, or regional retail channels. 
  • Strong understanding of private label programs, retail commercialization, line reviews, RFPs, category selling, broker networks, and customer decision-making processes. 
  • Experience managing brokers, sales agencies, or external commercial partners. Proven ability to build and convert a strategic sales pipeline across complex customer accounts. 
  • Strong financial acumen, including pricing, margin, volume, customer profitability, and commercial trade-offs. 

Location/Travel: US near a major airport. Travel up to 70% initially, stabilizing around 50% once business and team is established.
